Rio de Janeiro keeps being an important and promising franchising market

The economic strength, the natural potential for tourism and Rio’s market size places Rio de Janeiro at the top of Brazil's main franchise networks expansion list, among of which is Morana.

According to the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF), the franchise market in Rio de Janeiro achieved a 19.297 billion revenues in 2016. The state is the second largest in performance, behind only São Paulo.

In the list of cities with the largest number of unities are Rio de Janeiro, Niterói, São Gonçalo, Duque de Caxias, Campos dos Goytacazes, Nova Iguaçu, Macaé, Petrópolis, Cabo Frio and Volta Redonda.

Given the context, the Morana network also is looking to expand its presence regionally. "Rio de Janeiro, like São Paulo, is an essential market for brand consolidation, so we are looking for investors interested in growing along with the network in the state, including in the capital," declared Marcio Ucha, Expansion Coordinator at Grupo Ornatus.

To become a branded franchisee, no prior retail experience is required. Commitment, dynamism, managerial skills and good interpersonal relationships are some of the characteristics needed to become a brand franchisee. To open a brand’s franchise, the initial investment is of R$ 225 thousand.
